Garden of The Month

Nee Soon South Zone B RC Community Garden at Blk 783 Yishun Ring Rd prides itself as a beautiful haven for residents to nurture flowering plants, vegetables and fruits together with the Gardening Club/Committee. This delicate beauty is under the charge and care of Ms Jamaliah, who heads the Gardening Club/ Committee this year with active garden enthusiasts like Mr Ong Cheng Hai and Mr Louis Tan. Both of them dedicate much of their time and effort to harvest the vegetables, fruits and upkeep the maintenance and design of the landscape garden.

 With such a committed Gardening Club/ Committee, residents are warmly welcomed to take a walk around the garden or join them in gardening. Chairman of NSS Zone B RC Mr Tan Joo Teck shared that a new resident to the estate marveled at the "gift of communal love, life and sharing" from the committee members. She readily integrated into this new community and began to volunteer at the RC.

The strong bond forged amongst the fellow residents and members also propelled one to pursue greater meaningful purpose in life. Upon harvest, they would often distribute their fruits of labour to the needy residents of Zone B and the nearby old folks home, bringing some warmth and love to cheer the elderly and less fortunate.
