What is “Community In Bloom”? Print E-mail

CIB is a programme initiated by NParks to encourage and facilitate the public to take up gardening, either individually or as a community activity. Other government agencies, grassroots bodies, and non-government organisations are also key partners in the 'CIB' programme. Hence it is a programme that provides a nurturing ground for gardening residents and extrapolates on their talents and passion to beautify and better the estate they live in, for the benefits of all residents.

As such, the Town Council firmly supports this initiative programme and encourages all residents to form their own gardening groups to participate.

These gardens will be situated in common green areas within the estate or nearby parks. They will be cultivated by residents and managed by the respective divisional Residents’ Committees (RC).

Today, there are over 250 active gardening groups in Singapore and the number is growing, a testimony to the benefits of gardening. Not only is gardening a fun hobby, it is a great way to get closer to Nature and will be very satisfying when you watch them thrive under your tender loving care. Furthermore, gardening can be stress-relieving too. What’s more, your efforts will not only be reaped individually, but your estate will be beautified naturally with flowering plants for all residents to enjoy!

So, gather your neighbours to join the ‘Community in Bloom' programme NOW as you discover personally the wonders of gardening!

Interested residents can contact the Town Council to find out how you can start a gardening project.
