Tips On Setting Up Your Community Garden
Form a gardening group of 5 or more members. It is vital that there is at least one resident with good knowledge in gardening to lead the group.
Approach a Resident's Commitee (RC) in your zone with the business plan/proposal for support and funding for your garden.
Tips:
Your plan could include:
a) The garden you and your friends wish to set up. (eg. Fruit trees, herbs, ornamental, spices, vegetable garden, or a mixture of each, etc)
b) The scale and layout of your garden. (eg. Size of plot and design of the different types of plants)
c) How your garden is managed and how ownership is being shared.
Your RC will then obtain permission from HDB branch office and the Town Council to secure a suitable plot of land for the garden.
